Sheriff Paul S. Milbrath has announced that he will be seeking re-election for a second term as sheriff of Jefferson County. Milbrath is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a 25-year veteran with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Milbrath began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1981 as a deputy sheriff in the jail division, he then moved to the patrol division, was promoted to detective, and finally to detective sergeant with the Jefferson County Drug Task Force. He was the driving force behind the Sheriff’s Office obtaining their first drug dog, Redman.
